In a most improbable scenario and against all odds:

1. On the road against a very respectable opponent;
2. While battling through numerous injuries and multiple missing key defensive starters;
3. Against a highly motivated opponent who had everything to gain (Play-off spot);

TEXANS WIN, TEXANS WIN, TEXANS WIN!

After four smash-mouth quarters of high caliber Texas 5A Football Saturday resulting in a highly impressive turn of events, the Texans went from would-be spoiler with noses pressed against the glass, to semi-masters of their own destiny.

Now with a little help this upcoming weekend from a few District foes and a big victory of their own on Senior Night, our "Start Strong - End Strong" Texans will find themselves still suiting up on Week 1 of The Second Season.

This author's Game Balls go to:

1. Texan Defense - When lesser boys-of-character would have found it easy to quit, play it safe and cower under the excuse of injuries and a perceived better opponent, this band of head-hunters forced punt after punt and on the final drive, bent without breaking and were rewarded with being between the lines and on top during the final tick of the clock.
2. Texan Offensive Line - 206 clock-burning rushing yards and almost 5 yards per carry spread across 6 different rushers. And if there was even one penalty called on this bunch the entire game, I sure missed it.
3. (Half a Game Ball) Texas Fans for being one of the best group of traveling fans in the District. But only Half a Ball for needing to help out a little more on game-impacting Defensive 3rd Downs. (Stand up and Get Loud!!)
